Alenya Fowler presents work completed during her time as Artist in Residence. Alenya was awarded the residency as part of a collaboration between Suffolk New College Art Foundation and Asylum Studios.

'Within this collection of pieces are five paintings, each connected with the Space in which they will breathe within the walls. Rather than suffocate the pieces with other images, the minimal number will allow a viewer to connect with them individually with a certain intimacy that would not be achieved otherwise.

Solitude is often categorised to be a negative, which in permanence it can be; though accepting peace in the connection between body-less surroundings and the freedom found in Spaces, is an important part of navigating emotions, both good and bad.'
