FLY is a series of paintings and textiles, which have emerged from an exploration of transformative materials and objects, the multiplicity of design and folding patterns, origami, paper, fabric, and flight. Central to all of this is the notion of  “one thing becoming another”.

This began when the artist discovered her father’s kite shortly after his death, which had been made out of his nightshirt. The idea of something which had once covered his body, being transformed and taking flight was very poigniant, and was the starting point for this series of work.
